John Lennon was was an English musician and singer/songwriter who rose to fame as one of the members of The Beatles, one of the most successful acts in the history of popular music. John Lennon once said “Imagine
all the people living life in peace. You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm
not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us, and the world will be
as one.” , this quote is basically saying he wants to bring the people altogether as one and bring peace but it's just merely dream.
He is expressing the idea of peace throughout the world. He has this dream of where there is a world without wars,problems,controversies and etc. His has this vision/image in his head visualizing all the people in the world coming together and joining together as one and spreading peace.
He was an individual that wanted to bring peace to the world but his not the only one,there are others who want the same.Peace,joy and tranquility to run through the world. Lots of people want a peace movement throughout the world, those people tell the government to stop fighting in Iraq and stop taking soldiers to Iraq. But there are others who actually enforce war. So it's difficult to balance out these opinions of people. It isn't easy to bring such an enormous group of people to peace and tranquility. Everyone has an opinion and that's what disrupts the world. Everyone has a say in what is being done in the world.
So those people who dreamed of having a world where peace is carried throughout the world,they can only dream of a world like that. Because every now and then there is some kind of problem, there can never be a time where the world was at peace. The world is constantly having war and political controversies and eventually it leads to the people an their actions lead to the start of protests,riots an boycotts. For example people want to make gay marriage legal in California but some people don't want that law to pass. The people who don't want that law to pass need to think about the majority of the people in the world are "coming out of the closet". And nowadays people are accepting it because its seen and heard of so often. The people just need to agree and understand each other but they're so stubborn and so they don't think about it thoroughly. Seriously though it would be amazing if the world was ever at peace,it could take a life time for that day to come. All we can do is dream..
Melissa! I enjoyed you're quote. It makes sense that the human race would want world peace. Imagine waking up in a world where there was no bullying, no anger, no madness. Yet that's nearly impossible because there is always going to be those few ignorant people that don't understand the true meaning of peace

Many people in the world hope and even dream of a world of peace; perhaps it is not possible, but people can try to make peace a little more promising. In our world full of chaos, life could be less threatening if there were more acceptances. In your blog you promote this idea and bring a bit more hope to a better world. Overall I enjoyed this blog because it was inspirational, interesting and spectacular.
ReplyDeleteIt would be wonderful to see and live in a simple world where no one fought and argued needlessly, and everyone lived together, equally, in peaceful harmony. Though there is no certainty if this day and age shall ever come, all one can do is hope, dream, and make their own actions convey this lovely idea (hopefully causing others to notice and spread the light). I appreciate that you acknowledge his ambitious goals for peace, and it's also delightful since you're respectful of other opinions. The examples really apply for good thought provokers. Also you don't sugar coat your conclusion, straight to the point in the last sentence. Peace is something great to strive for in this bat-crazy world.

A world without poverty, war and hateful people would be an amazing thing to have but as you said, all we can do is dream. I loved the examples you used because they are the main reasons why our world is as crazy as it is today. Great blog keep up the good work!
