Who and what is Buddha? Buddha means the awakened one; Buddha is "someone who has realized the enlightenment that ends the cycle of birth and death and which brings liberation from suffering". There are many Buddha's from different cultures, but one Buddha from the Chinese folklore in the 10th century said "Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.
" The Buddha is explaining that you shouldn't dwell on the future and don't fascinate about the future, focus on the present;what you did in the past and what you do in the future all accommodates into who you are and what you do in the future
So i know that many people dwell on their past-even myself- and it really sucks. Its like living in the past, constantly thinking about the past and the mistakes or achievements you've made. People shouldn't think about their past, is the past-and yes, people have made mistakes but we all learn from them. The past makes up who we are now.
So tell me do you dream about your future?I'm sure people dream about their future, but there's really no point. You won't achieve your dreams if you just merely dream and don't take action. Take actions to achieve your dreams;chase your dreams. Focus on what you're doing now, these actions you're committing now depend on your future.Focus on the present, that's all that's needed.Put your mind into it and focus on your life in the present, because later in life you will realize what mistakes or achievements you've made. Your mind revolves around the past and the future but forget it-it doesn't matter-all you need to do is focus on the aspect of life in the present.
So stop dreaming because you aren't getting nowhere day dreaming, take actions and make your dreams into reality.!(:
Amazing qoute amazimg depiction of the quote. Your right, we can't keep or mind sets stuck In the past and we also can't direct all of out focus on the future either because in order to live the dreams we dreamt of having we have to do good in the present. :)
ReplyDeleteMelissa first of all i love how you interpretted the definition of buddha and placed it with your personal experiences. Also it is true when you talk about how we live in the past and the future and how we have to act.Well done.
ReplyDeleteMelissa.!.I agree with your quote. The past is the past and the future is unknown. The only thing we can do is move on from the past focus on the present and look forward to the future.
